  13.      The following information was obtained through a phone call I had
  14. with the editor of Amiga Shopper on May 4, 1994.  All information came 
  15. from an Official Press Release faxed to them earlier that day.
  16.  
  17.      "Commodore International has filed for protection from creditors 
  18. in the Bahamas."
  19.  
  20.      "All production, distribution and normal operations will continue
  21. as normal for the next few weeks.  At that time another press release
  22. will be made."
  23.  
  24.      The current roomer in the UK is that Commodore is in discussion 
  25. with Samsung about purchasing the company.

  27.      WHAT DOES THIS MEAN???

  29.      Our favorite computer will still be in full production for the 
  30. next 3 to 4 weeks.  I view this as a positive sign.

  32.      If Commodore were going to cease to exist, production would have 
  33. been stopped and lay-offs would have taken place.  The only lay-offs 
  34. at the present time are in West Chester.

  36.      As for the rumor, Samsung has recently announced that they will 
  37. introduce a CDI, 3DO, and 2 CD video modules late in the year.  CD32 
  38. would be another good choice if a company was looking to dominate the 
  39. CD video industry.

  41.      Look for further posting, as I will try to reach CBM Canada in 
  42. the near future.
